The serigraph presents a busy and bustling scene in a grand emporium of fine dining. One can hear the gentle clinking of tableware and crystal while savoring the aroma of grand cuisine. The stars of the show, the chefs, carefully prepare gourmet dishes of exquisite and delicate flavor, the sumptuous tools of their trade spread out before them. To the left, a pair of classic waiters select bottles of fine vintage. To the right, a characteristic French sommelier tests a wine selection. Behind them on the right is the commanding presence of the maitre'd, discreetly keeping a sharp eye on all the goings-on. And in a frieze along the top, elegant diners enjoy the service and relish world-class international cuisine. The backdrop of the serigraph is a montage of hundreds of labels from actual bottles of wine and cognac, as well as the bands of premium cigars. |

His unique, colorful and visually stunning works of art vibrantly capture a wide array of real-life people, places and activities including sporting events, leisure activities and other social gatherings. The recipient of countless awards and recognitions throughout his spectacular, more than half century long career, the works of LeRoy Neiman will undoubtedly continue to live on for another half century and far beyond!

Neiman was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota and was abandoned by his father at an early age. Neiman and his mother, Lydia, were forced to fend for themselves. Neiman distinguished himself by drawing. In 1942, Neiman left high school to enlist in the US Army, where he spent four years before returning to St. Paul to finish his high school degree. Neiman studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (where he also later taught), the University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois.
